Taking into account requirements for all branches of the military, 15 to 20 percent of white men, 13 to 19 percent of black men and 12 to 24 percent of Mexican American men did not meet the standard. |

Another fat black article on the issue takes a predictable spin: instead of harping on the 50% unfit stat, it actually eliminates that stat altogether and turns the findings into an anti-fat tirade. The unfit children are only noted if they're overweight, too - but not if they're simply unfit. Shoddy journalism, this.
