(And it's not like the snack and soft drink industries are going to go belly-up for lack of business.) Why not show people of all shapes and sizes exercising and being happy? Heck, if the government really wanted to increase exercise by fat people they'd make it possible to track people via license plates so the cretins who scream at me while I'm out walking could stop being anonymous. Even better would be too fat a small but vigorous enforced fine for harrassment so it would cost them for being a jerk. But that's not as easy to do as erecting a billboard. |

As far as the exercise thing goes, it would help if even companies that advertise for things like bowflex promoted getting in shape over getting thin (with clips of heavier in-shape guys or women climbing mountains every so often and such)--it's not like less people atkinsdiet would buy their product, in fact, they might actually gain more customers.
