The radio "obesity is our biggest public health crisis" propaganda boils my blood because I'm the healthiest person I have ever met, extra 80-ish pounds and all. Not even colds. My body has a reason for being this size. I may never know what it is, but radio it's clearly happier here, and who am I to be so presumptuous as to try to screw with that. I haven't dieted in five years ... that last time, I was fighting to lose weight while my mother was fighting to radio gain weight, dying of pancreatic cancer. As I watched her bones pop up under her skin, one by one, day by day, I thought irrationally, maybe if she'd started with more fat, she would have lasted longer ... But I digress. Thanks for the article. Posted by TR on July 26, 2003 02:59 AM. Good for you on the self-acceptance, TR, & actually you are right. Generally speaking, fat people do better fighting cancer & they live longer than people who start out thin.
