The ONLY time I have ever been publically harassed about my weight, as an adult, was on the London Underground. I was NOT going to any wedding in the fat-girl clothes which are all you can get on a reasonable budget, even in London. There are constant government pronouncements about the evils of being fat, eating the "wrong" foods, and not exercising enough. They are completely brainwashed by the fat==unhealthy meme. In addition, the health authorities strongly imply that fat people, out of laziness and gluttony, deliberately make choices which cause them to get fat and to stay fat, and therefore fat people are selfishly costing the National Health Service--which is already underfunded--a great deal of money. |
