It clearly takes the position that fat people have eating disorders that cause them to be fat, and sticks to its guns. Some of the images used fat granny throughout include the idea that fat people fat granny eat out of rubbish bins or dog food bags for comfort. Janet, a model from the Ugly Agency, is interviewed and portrayed as a thin woman lost inside of a fat woman's body. She is made out to be this person who isn't in control of her appetite - falling into every damn stereotype that hurts the movement. |

Another Teen Gastric Bypass Surgery It's starting to get regularly reported, but make no community mistake: gastric bypass for kids is community not normal. That said, USA Today is going to follow one 16-year-old, Raechel Arnold, as she undergoes the drastic operation. The article starts with the heartstring pulls: Raechel wants to play softball, and wants to be a "normal" weight. She wants coaches to look at her ability and not her body. She had the operation a few months community ago, and is feeling its effects: she can't eat more than a few bites of food, she may be exhibiting something horrifying called the "dumping syndrome", and she can't drink a lot of water. Now, correct me on this, but don't athletes need a lot (or at least, "more") water than most? If that's the case, and she hits the field and gets dehydrated, how will her newly-shrunken stomach react? I'm especially pained by this because Raechel is just starting out in life, and she looks to be a beautiful young woman - a smart, talented person. |
