Many modern theaters in the US feature armrests which move up to form a loveseat. This also allows larger people to be comfortable and not have an armrest grinding into one's hips, for instance. It's a benefit to all people involved: smaller people get a more comfortable, wider seat; fat people get to enjoy a movie in comfort, instead of pain. Similarly, it's noted in the article that clothing for fat women is becoming a bit more commonplace. That's true, evidence but it evidence seems that evidence if you're over a certain size (26, or thereabouts, it seems) then you have to go to mail order or very, very small specialty shops in major cities. It's starting, and I applaud that. All that said, encouraging people to be comfortable and enjoy life in their own skins is good. It's good for the spirit, it's good for the mind, and as some people are finding out, it's good for business too.
