Some are darned close, though. One trend I've noticed really bugs me, though: the use of the word "fattie" to describe a fat person. Your cases-in-point: this protein power article about a fat burglar and this article about a potential "fat tax". protein power I find protein power it disgusting, disturbing, and dehumanizing that actual, honest-to-gosh press publications would use such a word. I don't see any ethnic slurs in the paper; why are there sizist ones? Also, on that second article: Is it fair for the 39 percent of Americans who watch their diets and aren't overweight today to carry the financial burden of higher health costs for the fatties? [grrr...] This statement has holes one could drive through. Implying that the 39% of Americans with a low BMI are eating well is a big fat fallacy. The fact of the matter is that most Americans aren't eating well.
