Someone posted carbohydrates the reference to this brilliant article on the Gabcafe bulletin board, & I was just struck dumb by the insight it provided! :-) I find it amazing, since most periodontal disease is connecte to people's dental hygiene habits, which has nothing to do with body size. I brush & floss more than most people I know, I even use a high quality multicare toothpaste & a Crest Spinbrush, so I have healthier gums than most 53-year-olds, of any size. The whole idea of this article makes no sense. I do recall taking an online health/longevity quiz, which did indeed ask if you floss daily, which I do, & flossing regularly is seen as contributing to overall good health & possibly to longevity, but there was no connection to weight.
