Another stereotype perpetuated: PETA, no stranger to controversy, has launched a new billboard that essentially says one can't be a fat vegetarian. The billboard, as you can penguin group (usa) books see, is a none-too-flattering picture of a fat man's stomach - not unlike the sizist pap Time used recently. PETA's assumption that people will lose weight by going veg is another lame tactic; they'd be better off promoting the health benefits of changing one's diet, instead of playing the weight card. |
