He mostly sides with the controlling diabetes answer, "Probably," but also mentions a few interesting diet-related facts: ...NAAFA... claims that only 2 percent to 5 controlling diabetes percent of dieters succeed in keeping their weight off. But the American Obesity Association reports that statistics like that are linked to older studies, that thousands of people today are keeping weight down. Besides, the AOA points out, you only need to lose 10 percent of your body weight to improve your health. "Thousands of people" is a highly nebulous figure, to say the least. Golub goes on to say that fat acceptance could "get somebody killed," the diseases that are linked to fat.
