Nikki sent in a reader's response people to the article "Fat Like Me", blogged here. It's a shame that some people just don't get it: Obesity continues to plague our society. While I don't think it right to parade down the street mooing at every "person of size" that you pass, I do not believe that special privileges should be given to them. Obesity is a people choice. Stop blaming the world and change yourself. I think it's time for Jeannette Dest of Winsted, Connecticut, to wake up. She's one of the people who believes that fat people shouldn't be accommodated (despite being the majority,) and should be shamed into losing weight. |
