In contrast, cutaneous symptoms and signs such as fat girls pruritus, rash, or pigmentary changes are more likely to signal a serious illness (eg, malignancy or fat girls CTD) as are chest pain, dyspnea, significant heart murmur, arthropathy, and cyanosis (eg, bacterial endocarditis, SLE). A thorough history, including contact with infected persons, exposure to pets or wild animals, history of travel, insect bites, unusual diet, and ethnic background, may yield valuable clues.
