They irrigate 735 acres. violet The couple is particularly proud of their Angus cow-calf operation. They handle about 200 brood cows, adding about 50 replacements each year. They finish about 100 calves from their own breeding each year. Marian had 4-H calves and reports long-standing interest – and violet enthusiasm – for this part of their operation. When she was a child, however, the herd was managed by her father and hired hands. Today, she takes pride in sharing the management of the herd with her husband, Bill. violet The couple has two children – sons Richard and Rane. the Nolans also have been active in church and community activities, including 4-H. "The farm is part of Marian’s heritage. It has become part of my heritage and will be important as our sons’ heritage," Bill said. "There is a connection to the land as well as a connection to others who have worked through good times and bad to make their lives a success."
